Nikon calls this the ‘monitor’, but most would simply call it the rear LCD or screen. This is not normally used while shooting unless you use the Info button [19] to display shooting information or need to make settings changes in the menus. It can also be used for composing images in both stills or video mode by pressing the Lv (live view) button [18].
The LCD is also used, of course, in playback mode, where you can check through the images saved on the memory card, zoom in and out and even make adjustments.
